Biff Coon Award of Excellence Winner for 2022

Congratulations to Alan Spencer and the Heart of Texas Wargames (HoTW) for being voted The Best Game of MillenniumCon 2022! Alan’s Avalon Hill Battle of Midway was truly a magnificently run game. The game featured a double-blind system where both the Japanese and American fleet commanders moved and searched for the enemy behind a cardboard screen – when forces met they fought on the ocean board set up between the opposing forces. All players had a great time playing this game. History was reversed and the Imperial Japanese navy scored a huge victory. Great job Alan.

We had a total of 39 games receiving votes – honorable mention goes to Mike Gomez and Circus Maximus in second place and Cal Kinzer and his Alamo game in third place. Thank you to all those who ran games this year.

This award is presented each year in Memory and Honor of Biff Coon as an Award of Excellence for the best game of MillenniumCon.

New! – Lone Star Historical Miniatures Pins

From Mike Gomez:

Guys I’d like to start a tradition. Pictured below is the first of the LSHM/MILLENNIUMCON fiesta pins. As you can see it’s 2″x1 3/4″. I only have 200 of them and I’m going to sell them for $10 bucks at the con. All of the proceeds are going to Millenniumcon. You’ll have to find me at the con and hand me 10 bucks in cash, not 20 but a ten, 2 fives or 10 ones. First come, first served and only at the con, that’s the only way you can get one, you can have a friend buy one for you if you’re not there. I did this one on the rush this year, but next year’s pin will be even better.

Prizes for the Middle Earth Tournament

MillenniumCon Texas MESBG tournament will feature some new 3D printed terrain. We have the full set of the Kingdom of Saxonia for the game tables. I have built and primed the Great Hall, Stable, Wall and gate, large house, black smith, and a bunch of smaller buildings.

Still plenty of room for players in the TEXAS MESBG CHAMPIONSHIP at MillenniumCon on 12 November – who will win the coveted trophy for 2022?
